The Art of Letterpress Exhibition

The exhibition of artworks celebrates the love of letters (type) and letterpress printing, showcasing the traditional ways of printing and keeping the passion for print alive.

The Christchurch exhibition was very successful with around three hundred visitors over the five days it was open during Level 2 restrictions and we received positive feedback which was very encouraging. The seventy-one prints then travelled to Auckland and Toni Mosley, the original curator and organiser, worked with the Auckland City Council to display this at the Nathan Homestead in Manurewa during October and November 2020.

Toni has also set up a new Instagram account, so you can follow  @loveletters_letterpress.

The Printing Museum in Wellington are searching for a suitable venue to display the exhibition and we have received expressions of interest for displaying in Dunedin and we are working with Dr John Holmes to make this happen.

The exhibition will be available for display in other regions within New Zealand. Please contact us if you would like more information on this.

Entries will become part of a permanent collection which will be managed by the Ferrymead Printing Society.
